Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year From Cambridge Support

As we approach the end of 2020, we thought a great way to end the year would be to not only thank everyone who has continually supported us but also take you through a roundup of everything that has gone on during this last year…  Plus, share a sneak peek into what’s coming up in 2021.

It goes without saying that 2020 has been unlike any other year that we’ve experienced, the impact of Coronavirus has touched everyone in some form or another.  We have seen lives lost, businesses fail and our very way of living all change, all in an effort to manage life through a pandemic.  However, we want this round up to be one of positivity and hope for everyone, so that’s the last we’ll mention about Covid!

Clients

It may be obvious and a little cliché, but there is no doubt we would not be where we are today without our customers.  We are extremely grateful to everyone that has chosen to work with Cambridge Support, we know people are spoilt with options within IT so we very much appreciate everyone, old and new, that puts their trust into us to provide them with IT services.  It was during our Virtual Christmas Party that we realised we have welcomed an average of 4.5 new customers every month during 2020!!  Which is something that we are incredibly proud of and we’re thankful to all of you. 

We hope that all our clients value the services we offer and we can continue to grow as a business while making sure our standards and service to all our clients remain at the highest level. 

Technical Gains

Like many Managed Service Providers, we cannot just sit back and survive on the knowledge we have, meaning we are constantly looking to advance this and improve. 

This year has been no exception, below is a summary of just a few of the advancements we’ve made on the technical side of the business.

  • Start providing Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD) alongside our existing hosted desktop solution.
  • Increased our Datto accreditation to Professional Partner
  • Become an Authorised Microsoft Surface reseller
  • Partner with our friends at URM to offer more and more Cyber Essentials and other security services
  • Start providing VOIP phone systems through TelcoSwitch

Growing Team

With all that we have gained in clients and technical ability this year, we have had to increase our team through the year to ensure we continue to offer our services to the standards we expect.  We welcomed 4 new members to the team since January 2020, all of which have become key parts to the business – Plus we already have two further new starters that we will be welcoming during January, but we’ll introduce you to them at a later date.

Charity Work

Anyone that knows our Managing Director Philip, will know that ensuring that we give back to the community is an important part of how we operate.  We’ve got two amazing charities that we continue to work with:

STARS – Stars Supporting Young People In Cambridge Facing Grief (talktostars.org.uk)

Tom’s Trust – Toms Trust | Caring For Children With Brain Tumours

The work that both charities offer to children and families in the Cambridge area is truly humbling and we look forward to continuing to work with them over the coming years. 

Where will 2021 take us?

In keeping with the positive vibes of this blog, we are really looking forward to taking on 2021.  We have a great team and a fantastic client base where we all work together to ensure everyone achieves what they are looking for.  We’d be lying if we said that more of the same was not in our plans, we are a business after all, but it’s important to both us and our clients that we do everything in the right way.  We want to ensure that our clients continue to see benefit from working with us and we can help them be confident in their choice to work with Cambridge Support.

It’s not all about business either, we look forward to engaging in a number of social activities throughout the year.  We already have plans to get some runners in the Cambridge Half Marathon and we’ll see what other opportunities present themselves over the coming months.
